The Teaching of Sunbeams

Boy did Seth and I have an interesting experience at church today. We were asked to teach the sunbeams and the lesson was on loving everyone. Of course we had the story of the good Samaritan, but then we asked the children how they can show love to other people. Here are some of the responses... keep in mind these kids are 3 and 4.

"I will not give my brother an upper cut in the face"
(How the heck does a 3 year old know what an upper cut is?)

"My girlfriend loves it when I kiss her"
(Hmm, this kid is already a mack)

"My daddy has a new girlfriend; he always has new girlfriends, and hes always loving on them"
(What do you say to that one? Thats great!?!)

"My uncle beats me, he likes it"
(Do I call child welfare?)

There were some good answers to, but these ones will forever stick in my mind. Boy are we living in a different world!
One other thing I wanted to ask is if you guys could include in your prayers those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Ike. Love to all!

Oh my, I can't believe those kids answered like that. Do you live in the getto or something. The worst I ever got was we never have family home evening, and my parents fight. Ya, my uncle beats me and my dad loves on his girlfriends. That's pretty scary.

LOL!!! That is hilarious! Oh man, this makes me miss my primary class SO much! I can't remember if I told you that I got released and am now the Ward music chair. Anyways, the kids in my class would say the craziest things sometimes. A lot of the time I could tell they were making stuff up, but sometimes the truth was even funnier. Is this a new calling or were you just subbing?
Love you guys!

LOL: that's hilarious. Oh man that's good! I substituted in nursery yesterday and was exhausted so I know the feeling but boy did I miss out on the laughs! I'll have to remember those--:)

Yes, hurricane Ike is scary. My sister, Diana (you may remember her; she was just older than Lora) lives with her husband and 3 boys in Houston. They didn't have power from Friday to late Sunday night. Luckily their house had no damage but not all their neighbors could say the same. It was intense and we were hoping and praying from them. Thanks to cell phones we did receive comforting words from them after Ike hit. Thanks for thinking of them.
